Your local guide will pick up you from your hotel lobby at your desired time. Then you will follow BBC Rick Stein’s footsteps to taste Shanghai.
First, you will go to the Yuyuan bazaar, which is the old Ming and Qing dynasty architecture market,with various of souvenir shops and restaurants. And you will enjoy your time there shopping and taking photos.
Then, you will enjoy the best delicious local food, with Xiao Long Bao and Mao’s dish Hong Shao Rou. Xiao Long Bao is a characteristic of Shanghai cuisine, with over hundred years of history. Pork minced “Xiao Longs” are the most classical ones and once it comes to right season, you can also enjoy the crabmeat ones. Hong Shao Rou, is chairman Mao’s favorite dish. Now this dish is held by many people to be great brain food. Of course there are some other delicious food together with these famous two.
Next, in the afternoon, you will visit the Shanghai museum and people square. As a museum of ancient Chinese art, the Shanghai museum contains over 12000precious work of art.
After that, you will visit the Bund and Nanjing Street. The bund is the landmark of Shanghai and it is the place to see old and new Shanghai. The east Nanjing Street is the No.1 shopping street of Shanghai.
Finally, you will enjoy the most abundant hot pot dinner. Hot pot is one of the most popular cooking styles all across China. With the single pot for each one or steamed pot in the middle, people sitting around and choosing the food they like, it is not only one dinner but also one kind of lifestyle.
